Winemaking, Heidi Peterson Barrett
A native of Napa Valley, Heidi Peterson Barrett is famous for her ability to harness the richness and elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon. With twenty years of experience as a winemaker, and a lifetime of influence from her winemaker-father and artist-mother, Heidi has a unique perspective and understanding of the wines of Napa Valley.
Blending art and science, Heidi focuses on creating wines with a balance of refinement, ripe fruit flavors and a sense of the individual vineyards from which the wines come. Her long resume includes many of Napa Valley’s most sought after wines including Barbour Vineyards, Dalla Valle, Grace Family, Jones Family, Paradigm and Screaming Eagle. Heidi also produces her own exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon for her winery, La Sirena.
For Revana Family, Heidi determines the precise time to harvest, when the grapes have reached their peak of flavor and balance. Heidi takes the masterfully farmed grapes and oversees every aspect of winemaking, from sorting the fruit to monitoring fermentations and determining when to press. The vineyard lots are kept separate through fermentation and barrel aging and in the end, Heidi determines which lots are best and selects those for the final blend of Revana Family Cabernet.
