Vineyard Manager, Jim Barbour

One of California’s most respected vineyard managers, Jim Barbour has more than twenty-eight years of vineyard experience in Napa Valley and manages over 600 acres, including many of the valley’s top Cabernet vineyards.

Jim approaches each vineyard and each block within a vineyard individually, determining which grape varieties, clones, rootstocks and farming methods will make the best wines and best express the characteristics of the site.

Jim has his own Cabernet label, Barbour Vineyards, which broadens his perspective as a viticulturalist. His long time friend and collaborator on Revana Family Vineyard, Heidi Peterson Barrett, is the winemaker. Working with Heidi to produce the Barbour Vineyards Cabernet, Jim directly experiences the impact his farming has on the wines made from the vineyards he cares for.

For Revana, Jim is an integral part of the collective goal. To attain the highest quality grapes from the site, Jim goes to extremes to guarantee low yields and rich, concentrated grapes.
