When I made a leap of faith in 1997 and purchased the property that would become Revana Estate, my goal was to make the finest wines in the world – wines that would exceed expectations and bring great enjoyment.

That’s why it gives me such happiness to share our 2022 vintage of Revana Icon Series wines. Accolades can be rewarding, but most importantly, they prove it was all worth the effort. I appreciate the late-night text messages, wine drinking selfies, and notes of appreciation from our collectors around the world. Ratings and words from respected critics like Owen Bargreen, former editor at Vinous and Decanter, are also important.

With the 2022 vintage lineup, Owen awarded Revana Estate its first 100-point score. Actually, he gave us two 100-point scores. This achievement feels as good as the Wine Spectator Top 100 spot my wineries have each earned twice.

This vintage of the Icon Series features the 2022 Revana ‘Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon, the Cabernet we introduced last year which Owen says “is a must-buy for any serious collector of Napa Cabernet” and awarded it a perfect 100-point rating.

From our estate, 2022 Revana ‘Estate Vineyard – Block 6’ Cabernet Sauvignon is one of our best yet. Owen’s observation – “the palate is rich and viscous with serious verve” garnered 99 points.

Our 2022 Revana ‘Weitz Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon also received 99 points and these words of high praise, “deep, seductive, and rich” as well as “flirting with perfection”.

This year, the Icon Series highlights a new wine that my team and I are very excited to add to our portfolio. 2022 Revana ‘Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard – Block C1’ comes from a block historically used by winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown who knows it well. The wine is 100% Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon that Owen Bargreen calls “otherworldly and complex stuff”. His perfect 100-point score says it all.
